Comerica has always taken a compassionate interest in the communities in which it does business. Team Members at the bank’s downtown L.A. branch volunteer at regularly at The Midnight Mission (TMM), and the Los Angeles-area Retail Banking team has expressed an interest in learning about the challenges experienced by homeless individuals and families in Skid Row and how TMM helps them overcome obstacles and achieve self-sufficiency.

With this in mind, Comerica’s Branch Services Managers held their June meeting at TMM. Breakfast and lunch were provided by Executive Chef Rob Rice’s catering team staffed by current clients of TMM’s Recovery and Transitional Housing program (money earned by the catering team helps fund TMM’s programs that help individuals and families experiencing homelessness). The managers took a short break from their team meeting for a Lunch-and-Learn session with Brandon Beckman, Director of Programs and Braden Hammer, Director of Strategic Partnerships.

After their meeting, these community-minded professionals took a tour of our facility with TMM’s Programs staff to get a clear picture of the path to recovery and self-sufficiency for our clients. They ended their day by serving meals in TMM Dining Hall to homeless individuals and families.  Many thanks to our friends at Comerica for getting to know TMM, and for your support and friendship as we work together to create a bridge to self-sufficiency for people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles!
